A three-year project funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia

In the first year of the three-year project "Musical-Choreographic Folklore of Georgians and Abkhazians Living in Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan" sponsored by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, the expedition group visited the Georgians of Turkey. The group consisted of the head of the project - Dr. Giorgi Kraveishvili, project coordinator Tamaz Kraveishvili and research choreographer Giorgi Alimbarashvili. In the first expedition, the group recorded a number of Laz music-choreography samples. The expedition lasted from May 22 to June 6.
In the second expedition, the group visited Tao, Shavsheti and Klarjeti and spent the last few days again in Lazet. A number of musical and choreographic samples were recorded in this expedition as well. The expedition lasted from July 22 to August 24.
After the second expedition, the leader of the group stayed in Batumi of his own free will, and at various intervals wrote songs and verbal information about the Sarpi lazuri dance and its tricks in the Sarpi of Georgia and Turkey.
