Saingilo (former Eliseni) is a historical-geographic region of Georgia, which was located in its northeastern part, and now it is surrounded by the districts of Kakhi (Kaki - this is how it was called until the 20s of the 20th century), Zakatali and Belakan districts in the territory of Azerbaijan.
The term "Saingilo" was established in the 19th century to denote the area inhabited by the Ingilos. A converted Georgian was called Ingilo, which means "newly converted" in Turkish. Hence the names "Ingilo" and "Saingilo".
